lyrics

Why must I deal with such a damper on my soul
Why must I dig myself out of someone else's hole
This ambient sadness is not of my creation
This whole situation defies any explanation

Fighting in this uphill battle is wasting me away
Fighting for whom and against what- I truly cannot say
Unsure of why I'm afflicted with such a sinking curse
Unsure of why this problem seems to be getting worse

I feel an ambient sadness coming over me
It hollows out all my feelings and leaves my heart empty
I feel the ambient sadness, a cold and dreary mist
There is no purpose that I see for it to exist

My remaining hope can no longer tread this flood
My body's grown cold; no warmth flows through my blood
All that I once dreamed of drowning under ice
All that I once lived for, wasted sacrifice

I feel the ambient sadness coming over me
I'm endlessly spiraling downward, never to break free
I feel the ambient sadness, a deluge of cold rain
Though I search, I cannot find shelter, protection from the pain

Eating away like a disease
At the inside of me
The infection permeates farther

Digging down
Digging down
Drilling
Ripping apart
An empty void that only gets darker

Falling down
Endlessly
Gaining Speed
Spiraling
Cannot see
'Cause I'm falling toward nothing.

I'm perpetually plunging in darkness
I need it to end
A crash
To let me die
Will not feel the ambient sadness
Will not feel anything at all.
