I used to worry about the future to come
And fret regretting the things I'd already done
The woes of past, present, and future all taken as one
Began to pull me down beneath the ocean

Apprehension and worry would pile on top of the stress
And it would drag me down and leave my emotions a mess
My negative outlook would feed right off of itself
And my life spiraled down into what seemed like hell

I changed my way of thinking
I saw my feet were sinking
So I grabbed a rope
And held on with all of my strength

So I let the good people around me pull me out
They may not have known, but in their help I've no doubt
And then I reached out, trying to be a good friend
But it helped me more than anyone else in the end

The weight of gravity gone from my shoulders
Now I'm free to fly

And I'm free to keep on moving forward
Never knowing or caring what I'm heading toward

'Cause I've made the decision to take things just as they come
Because using precision in guessing the future is dumb
It yields only disappointment and anxiety
So I try to make it a point to plan reasonably

The oppressive worry
The repressive truth
The hollowing hell
The venomous tooth

The incessant pain
The ever-present knife
That stuck into my side
I expel from my life

From the unknown future
The newly found light
Has removed the damper
Has given me flight

There's zero gravity weighing me down
Nothing gluing my feet to the ground
It's illuminated a clear path home
And I'm grateful for this gift of shalom

Zero gravity's given me wings
Liberated me from all of the things
That used to haunt me, plague me, drag me down
So I can look past the thorns to see that I have a crown
