This song is about something I haven't experienced— Internet fame. As a viewer, I've noticed that even the most wholesome of creators, who simply do their thing and don't go after anyone, seem to get negative attention just for existing. I believe it's far more relevant in this online context than for more traditional media and celebrities, considering the direct line to the artist that the medium includes.
